I’ve enjoyed sport my entire life, from football, judo, cycling to rowing. It was during my time rowing that I was first introduced to CrossFit (thanks Ed!), to supplement my training. The CrossFit bug soon took hold and became my focus, which is when I realised that through all the sports I ever played, as well as the team aspect, it was feeling fit and healthy that I enjoyed most, so in the ‘sport of fitness’, I had found my home.
‘A hobby gone out of control’, I always say! Never forgetting what I’d learned as a rower, I began coaching rowing within a CrossFit setting. I never thought I’d stop being a competitor, but I found a real passion for coaching others and continued to develop myself as a CrossFit coach, with a specialism in Aerobic Capacity. I studied Running, SkiErg and Cycle movements to accompany a knowledge of rowing. This progressed onto programming, then seminars, a tour around the US with Sam and working with some of CrossFit’s rising stars. Fast forward to today and we have CREW Fitness.
What’s next? Well I’m excited to create an environment that is everything that is ‘right’ about a fitness community, with a team of like-minded coaches and support services, and to pass on everything I’ve learned to whoever walks through those doors wanting to become a better version of themselves.
I would like to try:
